Young men showing their underpants

I guess you all have noticed the fashion among young men having their trousers so low that their boxershorts can be seen. I would be interested to know how it all started? My own theory is that it all started with men wanting to show off their Calvin Klein underwear? Does this ‘fashion’ have any name?
